Our dream is to build an indoor arena complex that will revolutionize our equestrian centre, enabling us to provide year-round services and open doors to new opportunities for riders of all abilities.
The Need for an Indoor Arena
The Scottish weather can be unpredictable, and harsh winters often disrupt our outdoor activities. Lessons and sessions get canceled, and riders, especially those with disabilities, face tremendous challenges. It's a reality that tugs at our hearts, knowing that the joy and therapeutic benefits of horse riding are not accessible to our community year-round.
We aim to change that by building an indoor arena complex that will be a game-changer for Happy Hooves and the community we serve. This new facility will not only shield us from the whims of the weather but also enable us to expand our services and create a sustainable future for our equestrian centre.
A Hub of Possibilities
The indoor arena complex will be a haven for riders, visitors, and the local community alike. At its heart, the spacious 60 x 30 meters arena will cater to coaching sessions and competitions, ensuring that riders of all abilities can enjoy horse riding regardless of the season.
Adjacent to the arena, we will build a cozy café with an observation area, overlooking both indoor and outdoor arenas. The café will not only offer a relaxing space for our riders and visitors but also contribute to the local economy by providing employment opportunities and sourcing goods from local suppliers.
Families with young children will find delight in our indoor soft play facility, a safe and enjoyable space for little ones, especially during inclement weather. The facility will be priced affordably, ensuring that all local families can access it while covering our costs.
Education and Empowerment
Our dream doesn't stop at providing riding experiences; we aspire to be a centre of learning and empowerment. The indoor complex will house classrooms where young people can study equine care and work towards Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs). We envision a future where local talent can grow, contributing to a stronger and more resilient local economy.
When our classrooms are not in use, they will be available for community hire, addressing the demand for modern and well-equipped meeting places in Sanquhar. This will create additional income streams that will support the sustainability of our centre.
